Octabri was on a mission on Tatooine when he found a wounded womp rat in the desert. He treated it's wounds and left to continue his mission. When he made it back to his ship he was surprised to see the womp rat waiting around his ship. Amused, he decided to keep the womp rat and name it after his late master.

Octabri enjoys studying naval history and practicing with his lightsaber in his free time at the temple.
It would take overwhelming odds to make him leave a comrade behind.
He would feel a great honor in commanding a large starship one day.
He believes that the Jedi Code is not infallible.
He believes that he is ready to make any sacrifice to win but time will tell if that is true or not.

After the sacking of the Temple on Coruscant Octabri was rushed through the rest of his training including the Trials of Insight and Spirit. The loss of his master and the sacking of the Temple hit Octabti very hard but life moves on and so did Octabri. Being a part of the team that first rediscovered Tython Octabri was one of the first Jedi to see their new home. For his first official mission as a Jedi Knight, Octabri was sent to the planet of Tholoth along with Eudrak to investigate reports that the Sith were trying to cause a civil war. When they arrived on the planet, they met their contact, A Tholothian named Frell, and began their investigation. During the final fight with the Sith warrior Octabri’s lightsaber was sundered and he was about to be stuck down when Eudrak attempted to save his life by deflecting the killing blow. Unfortunately, Eudrak misjudged the distance and ended up having his right arm severed from his body. Seeing his friend’s arm and lightsaber fall away, Octabri managed to catch the falling lightsaber and turn the Sith’s moment of triumph against himself and kill him before he could finish off Eudrak. With the success of the mission Eudrak was taken away so he could recover from his wound and Octabri was approached by Frell. As thanks for helping to save her planet she offered to show him how to make a new lightsaber hilt out of Tholothian Heartwood. Octabri had noticed the strange wooden hilts and gratefully took her up on her offer. Once he returned to the temple on Tython Octabri realized that being able to just protect others wasn’t enough, He needed to be able to heal those that he was protecting. He spent the next year learning from the healers at the Jedi Temple and honing his skills. The next few years would fly by with various missions, some undertaken with Eudrak some not. One such mission led Octabri to the planet of Corellia where he used some of his spare time to learn more about the art of building ships. At the start of the 9th year after the sacking of the Temple Octabri was elected to lead a mission to Ilum to recover crystals for the padawans of the order and he did this until he was summoned back to the Tython for a new mission...
Motivation
