Background

[UNKNOWN BEFORE THIS POINT]
Skant "Quickhand" sustained a catastrophic brain injury, and has a massive visible indentation of some shape in his skull where it occurred. In a rare stroke of good fortune, he was taken in by a group of (relatively) good-natured Nar Shaddaa roughnecks.
Motivation
Skant is uniquely unambitious. He is grateful to be alive, and for his place in the galaxy. He is content, and generally cheerful even in his labors. He has accepted his disability, though he does (of course) experience moments of frustration because of it.
This, however, is an unintentional misdirection. Skant is by no means unmotivated. Instead, he is deeply motivated by a few simple principles:
> Kindness. He abhors pointless cruelty and will try to prevent it in any way he can, even if it doesn't involve him, and even if it seems like "not a big deal." This can get him into trouble. A lot.
> Self-Actualization. Skant has made peace with his disability, but struggles, like many do, with feeling as if he is inherently "less" because of it. A part of him wants to do something that makes him truly believe he lacks nothing; that he is Whole.
> Loyalty. Skant is fiercely loyal to both allies and causes with which he aligns himself, even to his detriment. It makes him a great friend to have, but it also means he has a very difficult time knowing when to let go.

Obligation: Lost History
Skant has a past, whether he remembers it or not. Disjointed memories return to him at random, and often necessitate a response of some kind.
Description
Skant is in no way an imposing figure. A young man just past his teens (if even that), he casts a lean shadow. His head is shorn rough and short, lacking even the simplest attempt to disguise his most prominent feature: A deep divot in the left side of his skull, as if it were caved in.
The young man's boyish face only teases at a sort of light gristle that might someday become a beard, the patchy hair framing a quick smile beneath bright blue eyes -- the left one just a little paler in hue than the right.
