Eltox did not grow up like your average Rodian. The times he's visited Rodia in his life can be counted on one hand. This is mostly due to his father, Tunbo. Tunbo was very briefly part of the Jedi Order, before the Clone Wars. He trained there as an Initiate, however was not deemed fit to become a Jedi. Like all initiates who would not go on to become a padawan, he was to serve one of the non-Jedi corporations supporting the Jedi Order. He chose to flee however and changed his name to lead a different life.

Many years later, after the Clone Wars, that appeared to be the smartest thing he had ever done. Due to a name change, he fortunatly dodged a bullet when the Empire not only slaughtered all Jedi but also all previous initiates, them being force sensitive and having ties to the Jedi. At that time, Tunbo was a freighter pilot. He spent most of his time picking up cargo contracts and shipping it to a vast array of planets. When Eltox was born years later, Tunbo wanted to settle down with his family however the only places he ever really called home were Rodia and Coruscant. Neither was an option. Coruscant, because there was nothing but painful memories and Rodia because society there was built on bloodshed. It went against all the principles he learned during his childhood at the Jedi Temple.

Thus Eltox mainly grew up on a freighter, learning various skills tied to that. During Eltox's life, his father told him about the Jedi, who they were, the lies the Empire told and reluctantly, that he had a history with them. When he was old enough to go his own way, Tunbo showed Eltox a hidden cache full of Jedi artifacts that he collected over the years. Feeling a sudden connection to it, Eltox knew this was what he was supposed to do. Scour the galaxy for knowledge and artifacts of the Jedi and keep it safe. Until that time when the galaxy was ready for the Jedi once more. Little did Eltox realize however, that he was Force sensitive himself...
