Background
A Droid with Honor
"Raaaaaahhgh huuguughghg uughguughhhghghghhhgh uughghhhgh" "A droid with honor" is what the Wookies referred to PX-11 during the time of the Clone Wars. After escaping a life of servitude to the Hutt family, PX-11 found refuge on Kashyyyk, the Wookie homeworld, where he not only aided the Wookies in battle against the Separatists but also helped improve their technological capabilities with upgrades to their weaponry and vehicularly technology.
PX-11 was present on Kashyyyk when Order-66 was executed, the wookies do not normally consider any droid honorable however PX-11 earned the title as he bravingly held off the Clonetroopers so Jedi Master Yoda could safely escape Kashyyyk. It was during this battle where he suffered great damage and to this day he still walks around with a dent in the plating of his left shoulder.
PX-11 fought for the Galactic Republic due to his core programming obligating him to protect innocent organics, however after spending time with the organics before & after the fall of the Republic, he observed the ways they treated his droiden brotherhood and his programming began to evaluate who is really innocent and if his mysterious programmers centuries ago may have erred in their logic.

PX-11 is programmed to protect innocent life and the oppressed. His unknown programmers 200 years ago only had organic life in mind when they programmed PX-11 with this trait. However, as PX-11 has not only witnessed, but been a victim of, droid slavery; his programming has come to evolve over time to extend his protective nature to droids as well. For this reason, as he develops a disdain for organcis he has experienced malfunctions in his core programming due to this internal conflict.
