Ravel is been with the rebels for a little over a year (15 months or so). As an analyst he is used to logistic work and supply management. He is been a helping hand doing all type of odd jobs during his short time with the Rebellion, but all have been able to keep him away from the action. Avoiding conflict himself but focused on completing goals and furthering the cause of the Rebellion. His internal philosophy is that every action matters, no matter how visible or heroic it seems. Often overlook on the grand scheme of things, a war is fought thru many different battles, and not all of them take place on a battlefield.
A scion of the Sarkhai people, a culture that prides on their intellect and highly sophisticated technology, and specially on their defensive prowess, Ravel was raised to an education rich on history, diplomacy, tactical warfare and technology. With force-users being practically unheard of on his home-planet, his sensitiveness to the Force, caught him and his family by surprise. With the escalating tensions between the Rebels and the Empire, and the ever looming threat of persecution of his kind, he was able to arrange his escape from Sarkhai.
As a result of his upbringing, Ravel is a cold headed thinker with a rational mind that is able to bring low his passions and see things from afar. After lying low for a time after and pondering about his future and the prospect of being on the run, he decided to join the Alliance, where he knew he will have the higher chance of survival. By offering his skill as an analyst and administrator, as well as his knowledge of military history and warfare, he was able to secure his admission into the Rebel cause. Ravel mentality of helping from the sidelines, is not only a bioproduct of his choices, but is also rooted on his strong desire of self-preservation, by remaining invisible in a crew of thousands.
Ravel has not desire to step on the spotlight, nor is the typical boy that grew with delusions of becoming a hero. Every story has its side characters, and he is not disappointed of living up to that part. But he will not think twice of bartering with those whose hands write galaxy's destiny, if they can guarantee he will reach journey's end.
