Full Story
Kadrax was born on Iridonia in 4 ABY. His parents were veterans of the Galactic Civil War, his father Duvor a soldier for the Iridonian Defense Force, and his mother Kati a smuggler for the Rebellion. He also had an older brother named Xotru. His mother died when he was young, on a mission for the fledgling New Republic. Because of this, Duvor grew very protective of his sons, never allowing them to leave the system.
Growing up, Kadrax and Xotru, under the orders of their father, trained in the Zabranian martial art K'thri, in which Duvor was a grandmaster and a local legend. Kadrax excelled at the sport, but was always bested by Xotru. While Duvor would try to hide it, Xotru was clearly his favorite. As time wore on, Xotru grew more arrogant, and Kadrax more furious. As Xotru grew lax in his training, Kadrax intensified his.
One day, at age 17, Kadrax challenged Xotru for the title of Grandmaster, yet again. But this time, things were different. Kadrax clearly had the upper hand early into the fight. Xotru tried to surrender, but Kadrax would not relent. Kadrax released years of rage within seconds. In his fury, he felt a dark presence overcome him, strengthening him. Xotru's career was ended that night. He broke 2 arms, shattered his skull, and punctured his lungs before the officials could remove Kadrax from him. Duvor was mortified. While surrendering in K'thri was certainly shameful, attacking a surrendering opponent was disgraceful. Duvor disowned his son.
Nowhere to go but away, Kadrax gathered his belongings and travelled the galaxy, in search of answers and purpose. Kadrax was afraid of what he felt during the fight. He felt he wasn't in control. Through his travels he came to realize what he felt was the force. He received a tip to seek out the New Jedi Order for guidance.
Motivation
