Background

Sylvin was born on the lower levels of Nar Shaddaa, conceived by accident when a drunken Quarren couple had a wild night out. Her childhood was spent hopping from bar to bar, casino to casino, following her parents as they drifted around the moon. She parted ways with them as a young adult, cutting off contact. This was when she started to dabble in petty crime; picking pockets, stealing speeders, etc. as she lived on the streets. This was when she began to gamble, a habit that only increased in frequency when she realized she had an inordinate amount of luck with games of chance. The majority of her scars come from this period in her life, from run ins with the seedy denizens of the underworld.

Gambling eventually got old for her. For a few years, she dealt in the antique business, pawning off odds and ends and contraband to whoever offered her the right amount of credits. She started to go on off planet expeditions to search for increasingly illicit goods, even though she had little to no knowledge of what went on outside the boundaries of Hutt Space. It became a lucrative business, and for the first time in her life, she had extra credits on her hands. That was put to an end she began to ran into trouble with Imperial customs, who she had the misfortune of running into on a trip back to the moon. She escaped, but lost her job — and was now on the Empire's radar.

She retreated back to the safety of the Smuggler's moon. Sylvin knew she had to think fast to keep her livelihood — by delving further into the criminal underworld, of course. She changed her name, buried her past and moved on into a different criminal ring. One thing lead to another, and she found herself drawn to a life of thievery again. Not petty thievery anymore, but instead, heists.

Currently, she works freelance. She hasn't gained much of a reputation yet, or the attention of any of the large criminal organizations, but that's where she's hoping to be in the next few years.

Description

A 27 year old female Quarren of average height. She has scars all over her body; mostly noticeably, the ones running down the length of her torso. There's also a tattoo of a fathier on her left thigh. Her voice is harsh and somewhat low pitched.

Other Notes

Amphibious: Quarren can breathe underwater without penalty and never suffer movement penalties for traveling through water.

Ink Spray: Quarren can spir ink from a specialized sac within their gills that disperses in water, creating a brief murk used to confuse foes or escape predators. This ability can be used on land as well, though it is considerably less effective because it must be sprayed directly on the target. Once per encounter, as an out-of-turn incidental, a Quarren may suffer 2 strain to add 1 black die to a combat check made by a character within short range (under water, it adds 3 black die to the combat check instead).
