Background
Tyreryl was the only child of a lower-class family in the Core Worlds (either Lorrdian or Corellian). Stricken with debt and on a measly income, the parent(s) had to resort to shady practices in order to survive. Unfortunately, a mistake (or failure to repay a debt) angered a powerful medical organisation and brought a crew of hired thugs to pay them a visit. Unsatisfied with the family's meek attempts at paying them off, they saw an opportunity for a contribution to the workforce. Ripping the him from his parent’s arms, the corporation took Ty to a facility in the outer worlds.
Years later, at the age of 7, Ty was already well accustomed to staying in line. Fearfully obeying the commands of his new ’supervisors’, he learned to suppress his objections and maintain a level of competition with the other indentured children. After years with no solace in friendship or comfort from authority, Ty learned to harden himself and developed a gruff and reserved personality. His skills learned fending for himself proved to be quite useful and he was an independent and untrusting man in maturity.
In adolescence, Ty was acquainted with the corporation’s doctor and head of medical research - Gath Lorner. An empathetic man at heart, Gath took pity in the boy, taking him under his wing and teaching him the art and science of doctoring. Gath remained a close friend even after Ty’s escape, and Ty feels a heavy debt to the man for showing him mercy.
Escaping from the corporation’s ranks in his early twenties, Tyreryl Sonland learned pretty quickly how to fend for himself. With no recorded history to speak of, he turned to the criminal underworld to make a living. Leveraging his learned skills as a doctor and his ability to look after himself, Ty worked as an in-house doctor for fightclubs around town, tending to the broken and battered contestants (and patrons at times). It was not without its dangers, but Ty felt a sense of purpose in caring for people and sympathised with many of the combatants who were in much the same position as him.

Description
Sporting a full build and hardened jawline, Ty was both appealing and intimidating. His utilitarian buzzcut complemented his thickly angular face and rough stubble accentuated the line of his jaw and cheekbones. Wide shoulders and large legs held up his muscular frame, but thick medical clothes—suited for both fighting and fixing—would often make him appear larger than he was.
Often described as unapproachable by those who saw him on the street, Ty was not one for formalities. On the rare occasion that his expression would shift from a scowl, it was never more than just the corners of his mouth or a slightly raised eyebrow; very rarely, preempted by much grog, he was known to laugh.
