Background
Zaree Alie grew up on her home world of Shili the daughter to the a single parent father, Asaak Alie, who is the leader of a large, communal tribe on Shili called the Audillas. Zaree never knew her mother, and this presence has been something she's often felt she's missed in her life, despite the care and attention of her father. Zaree is the oldest child, with six younger siblings, each of them with a dedicated purpose in their tribe. While she was often entrusted with important tasks and helping counsel her father through his leadership, she has often felt she was destined for more. She has always felt a strong connection to the Force around her and has an incredible ability to perceive the truth of the world around her- the reason for her counsel being so useful to her father. In addition to her Force sensitivity, Zaree has always been a skilled combatant, and snuck into training sessions with the boys of her tribe in order to hone her skills. Her father didn't always approved, and wished her to focus on more "lady-like" pursuits, but Zaree is headstrong and independent, she does what she wants to do and gives little care to others opinions. While her pride and ability drives her forward, it can make her arrogant at times and brash in her decision making. Though she is perceptive and intuitive, she often has to balance between the more rational side of herself and the side of herself that is called to act first, on instinct, and think later. Her instincts are guided by her strong connection to the Force, and so she believes even if she can make reckless choices, it is always for a greater purpose driving her forward to take her rightful place in the universe.
Her tribe and family have always believed in staying close to home and to their roots, but Zaree wants to explore, to challenge herself, to fight and be one with the Force moving around them. So, she stayed on Shili until the age of 17, until the call towards the universe and a greater purpose became to great for her to ignore. She loves her family, loves her tribe, her people, and most of all her father, but she began to have visions of a different life. She would see flashes of what she believed to be her future everywhere, in fires, in her dreams, in waking moments when she would become unfocused with her present. There is something that wants her to leave Shili, to train and master her skills with the Force. Her mentor, Kray Korbin, encouraged these feelings and helped her train in secret without her father's knowledge. Until one day, she escaped into the night, bought a shuttle ticket off-world and never looked back.
She followed her instincts, which led her to the dusty world of Jaku. There she found a secret society, The Delta Five, who live in the wreckage of an old empire space cruiser. They are a society of Mystics, some are Advisors, like she had been to her father, some are Seers, who can glimpse the Force moving towards the future, but she found her calling among the Makashi Duelist's, skilled fighters so in tune with the Force, they only need rely on that connection to defeat an opponent. Her training was so intense, so profound, that after nearly five years of complete emersion in the society, she nearly forgot who she really is and where she came from as her senses became one with the Force and her powers grew. But thus is the role of a good Duelist. You are not your name, not your species, merely a vessel for the will of the Force to channel through and tapping into this power makes any Makashi Duelist a valuable ally or a formidable foe.
It is here, with The Delta Five on Jaku that Zaree remained for nearly 10 years, studying, training, honing her abilities until she had reached a level of eternal Force Consciousness that left her mostly contemplative and intuitive, the rational side of herself ruling her body, mind, and spirit. But then, one day, her visions begin again. Another calling sounds from the Future, from the will of the Force, from some far off, distance voice she still cannot name or see. And with the guidance of her master, Barak Ollie, she knew the time had come for her to leave Jaku. For her past ferocity and instinctual action to rule her again, to answer the call and see where the Force took her.
