Background

As a child, Korra was sold into slavery on a balo mushroom plantation on Balosar, her home world. Treated terribly for a decade, Korra eventually gained enough favor with the owners (by her talents, hard work, and cutthroat nature) that they promoted her to be an enforcer for the plantation. Her job was to torture others like she was during her tenure as a basic slave.

At first, she saw this as a necessity to survive in the world she was forced into, but it became too much for her quickly. She began looking for excuses not to do what was asked of her. Eventually, she became friendly towards those she was supposed to be disciplining. They came to her after a while with a plan to riot and gain their freedom. Korra agreed to use her power and influence in the owners to help.

However, when everything broke loose, Korra saw an opportunity to escape and took it, abandoning the rest of those who trusted her to an uncertain fate.

After getting smuggled out of Balosar, Korra has just now found her way to the outer rim planet of Karazak. She has joined the Slaver Syndicate house of the Bounty Hunters' Guild. Korra will take her anger for the way she was treated (and her guilt for abandoning the other slaves at her plantation) out on her bounties. She plans to sell the worst offenders into slavery, a surrogate way of punishing those who hurt her.

Motivation

Finish the Job (ND:37): Korra will pursue a bounty even when it is not economically viable. Once she accepts a bounty (only when she truly believes the person is guilty, or they remind her of her former slave owners), her word is irrevocable. She will pursue at all costs. While a job might be put on hiatus, once the hunt begins she can never abandon or forget it--even if the client rescinds the bounty.

Obligations

5 - Additction: Korra is addicted to death sticks. Without consuming 1 a day, Korra finds it increasingly difficult to concentrate on even mundane skills.

5 - Betrayal: It eats away at Korra that she abandoned her fellow slaves, but she also seeks revenge against not only those that imprisoned her, but those who imprison innocents in general.

Description

Korra is a brand new bounty hunter with the Slaver Syndicate house.

Korra is mostly manipulative, selfish, and deceitful. She can almost always be persuaded to do the "wrong" thing or take the easy way out. In that way, she is weak-willed. However, while it would be very difficult to convince her to kill or torture anyone she perceives as innocent, it doesn't take much to convince her of someone's guilt.

Korra does not look as athletic or as coordinated as she really is. The only attractive parts of Korra's appearance are her youthful face and her long, dark brown hair (which she almost always wears up). She has a yellowy tint to her skin. Her teeth are also yellowed, and her voice raspy from her frequent use of death sticks. She is bony and looks malnourished, and often smells of smoke.

Korra has brown eyes and loves to prominently display her various melee weapons.
