Lucien Veyne was born into a wealthy and influential Falleen family, raised for a life of politics, diplomacy and respectable society.

Unfortunately, Lucien discovered early on that being respectable was nowhere near as entertaining as being charming. Like all Falleen, Lucien possesses natural pheromones capable of subtly influencing those around him, but he turned their use into an art form. Combined with his confidence, good looks and silver tongue, Lucien became exceptionally good at getting people to like him, trust him and occasionally make decisions they would later deeply regret. Rather than follow the political career his family planned for him, Lucien embraced gambling, drinking, expensive clothes and even more expensive company. After one scandal too many, he abandoned Falleen society, taking whatever credits he could and heading off-world.

Since then, Lucien has survived as a smuggler, gambler and conman. Where others carry blasters, Lucien’s preferred weapon is conversation. He’ll flirt with a customs officer, charm a crime lord, bluff his way through a checkpoint and somehow leave everyone involved feeling like they got the better end of the deal. He presents himself as a shameless hedonist interested primarily in credits, alcohol, adventure and what he refers to as “galactic baddies.” Beneath it all, however, Lucien is fiercely loyal. Once someone becomes part of his crew, he’ll put himself in considerable danger to protect them — although he’d rather die than admit he was being heroic.

By 9 BBY, Lucien has found himself taking work for the Rodian gangster Ton Nudo, convinced that his current life of crime is merely the beginning of something much greater.

After all, the galaxy is enormous. And Lucien Veyne hasn’t charmed nearly enough of it yet.
