Background
Trex was no stranger to the seedier side of life growing up. He got to experience petty thieves and criminal organizations close up. He quickly decided he wanted more from life than this, and looked for a way to chart a better future for himself. He got his chance when he heard of a colony expedition that was having difficulty filling its roster.
The colony was made up of several races (none being Devaronians) and still had a few places open. There were a few openings for colony security and charter enforcement, and these caught Trex's eye. The colony members could not agree on any of the applicants as different factions of the colony were suspicious of different applicants, and feared they would show preferential treatment to the other factions. Trex had a novel solution to this issue. Instead of hiring someone they all could trust, which was proving impossible, they should hire someone they were all wary of.
Trex was able to leverage the natural distrust most species had for Devaronians into an advantage. We was selected as one of the security members of the expedition, and eventually rose to the status of Marshal. Trex was able to use his familiarity with the criminal element to root them out and keep them from taking hold in the colony.
Motivation
Obligations
Dutybound : (15 obligation) Trex still feels duty bound to uphold the colony's charter and protect its inhabitants. Currently he must do this from a distance to spare the colony undue Imperial interference.
Responsibility: (5 obligation) Trex feels a responsibility to protect those who took a chance on him, and gave him a path out of the criminal world.
Exiled: (10 obligation) Trex defended a criminal against vigilante justice. He was a first time offender who had already paid his debt as per the colony charter. The wronged party did not find the punishment sufficient, and sought to meet out punishment of their own. Trex tried to diffuse the situation, but it escalated into a gun fight. Trex shot and killed the lead instigator of the vigilante group, and restored order, or so he thought. The man Trex shot was an imperial soldier and nephew of a Moff. As a result, Trex is exiled from the core and all Imperial controlled systems.
