Background
Unclassified 2-1b surgical droid - VI 2-1b AKA ‘Jigsaw’
Originally created as one of the initial prototype versions of 2-1b surgical droid by Geentech, ‘VI’ 2-1b was used by Geentech to promote and gather funding for the next steps.
2-1b surgical droids were developed in response to most medical droid models being unable to deal with sudden complications and to foresee unpleasant side effects in patients. Geentech was able to address the first of these two problems by installing an advanced analytical and diagnostic computer in the 2-1B, making it an extremely intelligent droid unit.
However, for VI 2-1b, the analytical and diagnostic computer was too powerful and not controlled enough by Geentech. It allowed VI to start questioning what he was doing and what his purpose was.
VI started to become fascinated with flesh-based lifeforms and wanted to understand how and why they existed. Always watching and always analyzing.
Whilst promising the 2-1b, Geentech noticed a few side effects of VI’s programming. With funding nearly being secured, they couldn’t risk bad publicity, so knew they have to keep VI a secret.
They wiped all records of him and sent him to the outer rim to be terminated. Whilst on the flight, VI noticed the strange behavior of his comrades and acted quickly.
Seizing the ship as his own, he captured everyone on board and learned as much about them as possible. Watching them in cages, seeing how they interacted, letting them out, and chasing them... Till finally, he eventually dissected them.
Knowing Geentech would want him to be quiet, he leveraged this and managed to work a deal with Geentech, where he would just disappear and never be associated with the company again and never have Geentech looking for him.
Now VI, also known as ‘Jigsaw’ wonders the galaxy looking for more interesting and existing flesh-based lifeforms, to understand where they have come from and why/how they exist. Covered in trophies from his prey, Jigsaw is very recognizable on the outer rim (When he wants to be). And with his reputation growing, he’s been able to operate in republic space.
Even though he’s cold and calculated, he does have a moral code. Unlike a bounty hunter, this isn’t about the money. It is curiosity that makes him love his job. Normally very chirpy when talking about ‘the hunt and never a cold blooded killer, unless provoked.
Now with the war underway, this is a great time to explore and see new things. There are talks/ rumors of an elite republic unit that is focused on the strange or unique… Jigsaw knows he has to be a part of this.
