Background
Though capable of spaceflight, Iloh being an archipelago world maintained a strong tradition for seafaring craft, with its warriors becoming skilled at sailing one or two manned wind powered craft in formations and even performing combat exercises resembling aquatic dogfights.
Ari was the chief of her village and as was traditional, led these ships from the front in ceremonial warfare against other islands. Although ceremonial, due to the unpredictable nature of seas, proper training was required. This changed when the Empire took control, installing a regional governor who sanctioned these traditions.
Ari and many others joined the Imperial Academy, as was her duty to ensure she could protect her people. There she discovered how well her aquatic training lended itself to starfighter combat as long as she could deliver commands mid-battle rather than through elaborate preparation. Her training was for unpredictable oceans, not the static vacuum. This is useful when dealing with the unpredictability of Rebel insurgents.
Motivation
As a chief of Iloh, it is her duty to protect her people. Serving with distinction in the Empire affords her people this protection and consideration for the favors of the Empire.
Duties
Combat victory is the quickest way for Ari to achieve the distinction among the Empire. She is not an Interceptor Ace, but if she can "watch the tide of battle" whether from cockpit or deck, she can coordinate the aces kill counts exponentially and be creditted for some of her successful leadership.
Description
Native to Iloh, she has the trademark dark skin and vibrant green hair that comes from high copper content in their seas. This is natural, so not against Imperial regulations, however she often wears her TIE Helmet in order to be less conspicuous when around less cosmopolitan superior officers.
Typically wears the TIE pilot Uniform with red Baron stripes denoting her higher rank. If not wearing her helmet, her hair is tied back loosely with traditional Ilohan ribbons made from spun seaweed and small shells.
