SCr-153 was created as a multipurpose class V droid by Reiber Manufacturing. Later SCr models were repurposed to be a generalist droids who could complete maintenance tasks on colonist ships, but could also perform basic survivalist functions. SCr models were shortly discontinued once Reiber Manufacturing, along with several other droid manufacturers, was reformed into the Imperial Droid Corporation.

SCr-153 was commissioned to travel on the colonist ship, The New Venture, with the mission of creating a joint mining operation between several droid manufactures on the planet Abafar. The mission would be comprised of mostly droids with few colonist with the intention of reducing overhead and issues with supplying the colony due to Abafar's inhospitable climate.

Unfortunately, The New Venture crashed on landing causing severe damage to the craft and killing most of the crew. Reiber Manufacturing and the other involved firms quickly abandoned the project, as during this time they were being reformed into Imperial Droid Corporation.

SCr-153 was damaged in the crash as well, causing it to gain independence and damaging some of its ethics subroutines. It was able to secure passage off world and with the SCr project discontinued and Reiber Manufacturing no longer in existence, SCr-153 was forgotten. Or was it?

SCr-153 is driven by curiosity of organic lifeforms. It uses its career as a bounty hunter to learn more about what causes them to be so inefficient.

SCr-153 has wanderlust and is very content to explore the universe in an effort to learn more about itself and others.

SCr-153 is looking for other SCr units. Several were left unaccounted for after the merger.

Bounty

Unbeknownst to SCr-153 or Reiber Manufacturing, when SCr-153 was created, the SCr project was headed by Klang Fert.

Klang Fert was demoted from the Assassin black market wing of Reiber Manufacturing for botching a major matrix release. Forgotten by the organization she gave all of her contributions, Klang thought she would "show those brainbolts" by putting her new assassin droid matrices into several of the SCr units. They were left unactivated in SCr-153 until the crash.

Now that Reiber Manufacturing is part of the Imperial Droid Corporation, things have escalated. Klang would prefer to tidy up loose ends before she is found out by the Imperials. Klang has put a bounty out with the Black Sun Syndicate, but has also sent out several of her own assassin droids just to be sure.

SCr-153 is a bipedal droid with a wide sensor panel and well articulated joints. While scuffed from experiences in the desert (sand gets everywhere), SCr-153 still appears as a well constructed maintenance/service droid.

SCr-153 is cunning, which often manifests in pursuing the shortest line between two points, regardless of who and what that impacts. It is trying to work slang into conversations. SCr-153 hasn't quite reconciled its assassin subroutines and is still thinks its primary purpose is as a service/maintenance droid.
