Background
Born and raised on Umbara, Dehn always loathed the lightless world she grew up in. She loathed the fog soaked landscape, the isolation from other planets, the cold apathy of the people. She loathed the deceit and conspiracy her fellow Umbarans spun as easily as they breathed, just to ascend the suffocating caste system of their society. She hated the iron grip of the Empire that was felt in every waking moment, as her father went to work building Imperial ships like many Umbarans did.
She dreamed of escaping this dreary world, and seeing the stars. She dreamed of flying higher and faster than anyone else, and leaving this shadow world and the shadow of the Empire behind. Every day, she'd ride her speederbike through the trepid landscape, trying out new tricks and seeing how fast she could go.
When she was old enough, she got a job working at the shipyard her father worked in. There, she worked as a prototype tester, flying and driving the new rigs they put together. For the first time in her life, Dehn felt alive. Flying as high into the dark atmosphere as she could, pushing the ship to fly at speeds that peeled the paint and alloy right off the hull. No matter how hard so broke the new ships, she always managed to come out unscathed. Pushing things to her limits...she enjoyed every fleeting moment of it.
Eventually, the Empire tightened it's grip
