Background

Down and Out - Erram Hasu is a changed man, well changing anyway. It’s a process.

I was an immigrant in Coruscant, and I fell into easy money in the criminal underworld. My intimidating looks, partnered with my ability to put people at ease despite appearances, made me particularly effective at getting jobs done with minimal mess. Being prescient didn’t hurt either. I kept my crews safe, kept money flowing, and kept the neighborhood peaceful, for the most part.

But here’s the thing, most people don’t want you to be “too” good at your job. If you aren’t careful, they notice, and insecurity slips in. Those below you start to resent you. You make things look easy and, suddenly, they’re thinking, “I could do better”. Causes problems.

Then those above you start to think that you want what they got, and fear slips in. Next thing you know, they find a way to make you disappear. That’s how I wound up here. I suppose just killing me would have had repercussions in the neighborhood, so I was “promoted”.

They call us slaves but it’s not so different than being trapped in the underworld. And just like Coruscant, you don’t last long if you don’t have a crew. That’s what I’ve been working on, creating a crew to have each other’s back, to protect the neighborhood, such as it is. It’s a hard thing to do from your knees, but I’m a changed man. I work with what I have.

Motivation

Freedom - I'm not going to die here. Plain and simple. And none of these folks deserve to be here, well most of them don't. I don't know how yet, but I've seen myself without this collar, so I know it's to be. Gotta do more, gotta be more.
