Background

Aama was one of the Twi'lek slaves that helped originally build the Kuma. Although a slave and therefore unable to receive credit for her work, her uncanny mechanical skill and the unique efficiency tweaks she put into place made her master a star in the shipyard.

When the Kuma's launching ceremony was complete, Captain Giesse purchased Aama using the ships funds - he had heard the stories of the mechanical genius that gone into the building of the ship's bones, and he wanted that for himself.

Aama has been serving on her baby ever since, although she is virtually unknown among the officer and enlisted crew with the exception of the engineering corps, as she has been under orders to keep out of sight. The captain didn't need it known that the ship's continued exceptional performance was due to the work of an alien, after all.

While virtually unknown aboard her own ship, the small group of engineers responsible for keeping things running essentially consider her to be in charge. They know that she's still technically a slave, but after fighting her for months under Giesse's command, they realized that by following her orders the ship would outperform any other like it. That lead to lots of praise for the department, and many promotions. Aama has seen dozens of technicians come and go, getting promoted to bigger and better positions due to following her example and taking credit for her hard work.

Motivation

Duties

Tech Superiority: 5

The only reason Aama is fortunate enough to remain aboard the Kuma (and in fact, likely the only reason she is still alive today) is because of her amazingly intuitive technological skills. While she may certainly have many other talents that she has never had the opportunity to explore, creating and maintaining the exceptional performance of the Kuma is the end-all-be-all of her current existence, and the only real contribution she can make to the Imperial war effort.

Description

Aama has pale blue skin and a thin, whip-like physique, all the better to scramble in and out of cramped conduit housings and between bulkheads to repair and maintain the ship she calls home. Her most iconic feature is her very long, narrow lekku, which she ties together with criss-crossing leather throngs and then throws across her shoulder to keep them out of her way.

While working with her engineering crew, she has a tendency to forget her station, bellowing orders even as she dashes through the hidden engineering corridors to attend to something that she feels is off elsewhere in the ship. With the captain, or any other human crew she might accidentally stumble across during her work, she is incredibly withdrawn, saying little besides "Yes sir," or "No, sir." The only thing that can shake her from this demeanor is disparagement of her work.
