On one of the farther corners of the galaxy, an estranged programmer and scientist named Dr. Cynthia Zerbose has been living in hiding for years to pursue studies that would otherwise be impermissible by any sane regulations. But Cynthia learned quickly that without connections to the outside world and its information, she would be sorely lacking in resources. She doesn't want to lose the pulse of the galaxy or see it fly by and pass beyond her in the world of technology. So she created a series of exploration droids of her own design, modeled similarly after diplomatic droids with three goals in mind: exploration, research and understanding. "Echo" is one of these few models that have been shipped out into the unknown reaches of the galaxy with precious little knowledge of their own creator, but aware of their purpose. They intend to acquire knowledge of all sorts, from technological advances to the cultural differences among the diverse but inferior biological lifeforms.
