Background
Born on the planet of Onderon, Mozentan’kar Y’allmir Tok grew up in the settlement of Iziz as an only child and lived a cozy and comfortable life with his mother and father. His parents worked as a medical duo as both served their community as being expert doctors with their specializations and earned their renown from a famous surgery conducted on Jozz Lok’s heart, earning him five to ten more years of life. Moze’s father upheld a series of tenets that boiled down to helping those in need and to lend one’s skills to assist another. Growing up, he learned a lot from being at their side, studying hard in school, and taking an interest in the anatomy of different species aside from the humanoid types. Not only that, but his parents taught him many of their skills that were firmly planted into his head until he remembered procedures and answers like the back of his hand. He wanted to become a doctor just like them, to help anyone and everyone who needed it. When he was seven, the Mandalorians brought their armada to Onderon, but they avoided attempting to conquer Iziz, as they failed to do so during the Sith Wars. Instead, they opted to use Dxun, one of Onderon’s moons, as a staging ground for their campaign. To have Iziz fall under their control, the Mandalorians launched a series of assaults and sieges to break the will of the military and the people. They used bombardments to shake the land with explosions and occasionally sent kill squads to eliminate any potential ground resistance by the people. Moze’s father did all that he could to save the people of his community but couldn’t do everything from an office and promptly joined the ranks of the resistance as a doctor of the affiliation, lending his skills to be used and providing medicinal supplies to the member whenever the opportunity was there. During one of their raids, the Mandalorians captured a squadron of armed rebels, including Moze’s father. They were all executed with prejudice, even Moze’s father, despite him retaining his pacifist code to not do harm to others. This ignited a hatred of the Mandalorians that the boy had not felt before now. His mind twisted with revenge fantasies of slaughtering any and all Mandalorians that stood in his way and this mindset lingered until he was old enough to join the Republic Army but never got the chance as he caught word of a powerful Jedi names Revan launches a counter-offensive that pushed the Mandalorians back until their eventual defeat. He saw the Jedi as people who upheld the tenets of goodness and protected the innocence from violence and corruption - he idolized them. But with nowhere to target his anger, he took it and turned it into passion, a motivation to continue his father’s line of work with the help of his mother’s tutelage to perfect his practice and to uphold his father’s tenets. He began to study and train in the martial arts, finding a need for it as Onderon was growing more and more fractured as time went on. Following the Jedi Civil War, the Republic had little acid to give Onderon and abhorrence to the feeble Republic. Queen Talia, a new ruler, found an opponent to a renowned war hero and cousin, Genera Vaklu. And those in other side of their politics hated and snarled at the opposition, further dividing the planet in two, warning of a coming conflict. When the Sith offered their aid to the planet, General Valku agreed to their terms and worked alongside them. This resulted in an eruption of in-fighting that was mitigated by a Jedi residing on the planet, named Meetra, who played a role in Queen Talia retaining the throne and seeing the General executed for his crimes. Under her rule, everything started to return to normal and even ended up prosperous for the people of Onderon, as aid was given and relations with the Republic bolstered. But, during the conflict, his mother served as the community’s doctor and did her best to treat anyone and everyone but because of her generous nature, she racked up a sizable debt that came to haunt her. A Quarren debtor, named Gor Mala, seized her clinic along with an escort of henchmen to forcibly hire her for his own clinic.
