Background
Gar Vizla grew up on the run, the death watch had been betrayed, the clone wars were ending, Maul had taken over, declared himself Mandalore, and his family had fled along with others led by Bo-katan Kryze, the sister of the now dead Dutchess. On the run, they learned to hide, to fight from the shadows, to only be seen one at a time. Gone were the days of raw overwhelming firepower, the days of the Mandalorians as a force to be feared. They hid in places known as Coverts, secreted away, only able to access the surface one at a time, hiding their numbers like the sand people of Tatooine. It was in this manner that he was raised, hearing the stories of ancient ways, of great warriors, of when they were once feared. He grew up steeped in tradition, his helmet never removed in the presence of others, fighting, hunting, tracking all skills he learned from a young age. He yearned to achieve the heights of greatness they had once held, the knowledge of working with Beskar, the ways of true war.
Soon, as the Empire grew in power and the ways were slowly lost, his family made their way to the outer rim. There, they were able to better blend in, to hide, to go to ground where the Mandalorians were but a myth, a whisper in the night. A story told to children to keep them quiet, to have them behave, ancient allies of the sith, enemies of the fabled Jedi. In time, Gar was trusted enough to be allowed to leave the covert, where he began work as a bounty hunter, albeit one with little reputation, prefering to keep to smaller bounties so as to avoid attention.
However, all that changed one day, when Uncle Maw reached out with a job...
Motivation
Gar seeks to provide for his tribe, to keep them safe, and to help them raise the next generation of warriors. He longs to restore his people, to bring them to the heights of culture and strength they once held. He takes what jobs he can, and seeks to build his own reputation.
