Background
Ittal is the child of Vernin Krinovo and an Arkanian offshoot named Arca. Vernin's father had commissioned Arca as a bodyguard for his son, but the boy wound up loving her instead. The feeling was mutual, and highly unconventional in Arkanian society, but it produced a happy baby girl.
Jealousy over Vernin's work combined with his 'unnatural' relationship with Arca led members of the Arkanian science community to subvert an old friend of the Krinovo family and sabotage Vernin's ship. On the death world of Alcor III, Vernin delved too deeply into an old Sith Laboratory and he and Arca were badly wounded. They rushed back to the ship to get both of them to a medical facility, but it wouldn't start. The sabotage was complete, and both would succumb to their injuries over the next few days.
Ittal was alone.
The next day, a hungry scavenger attacked her camp, drawn by the scent of death. Desperate to protect her parents' remains, and mad with grief, she reached out and wrenched the heart of the beast apart. Dripping with blood, she swore to survive, to learn, and someday to track down and kill the ones who had killed her parents and put her through this.
Over the next five years, Ittal survived by her wits and her newfound power to twist or mend the flesh of living creatures. In a jungle full of the descendants of evil Sith experiments, she fit right in to the natural order of things.
She was finally rescued when a team from the New Jedi Order, led by Knight Naro-Kys Cerr, arrived to study and secure the same Laboratory that had claimed her parents. Knight Cerr recognized the innate and dangerous talents she exhibited and brought her back to the Praxeum to either be trained or contained.
While her inheritance was stolen from her while she was presumed dead, Ittal retains ownership of the Nova Courier her parents used to travel, and that eventually stranded them all on Alcor. The 'Glorious Prospect' is both home and dark reminder to her, and she constantly debates selling it.

Ittal seeks revenge for the death of her parents, and will stop at nothing (or so she believes) to repay their killers. She is convinced that the man who betrayed her family was Imrin Batal, an Arkanian shipwright and long time friend of the family.

Ittal has been through a lot in her short life. She's faced down horrors that would shake the heart of the boldest explorer and killed them without mercy or fear. Her ability to both heal herself with the force and to drain and consume the life force of enemies makes her confident when facing down any situation. She once hunted and killed a massive borer worm, throwing herself straight path it's teeth and down its throat to cut it open from the inside.
That same sense of power, however, has led to a pragmatic approach when dealing with other life forms. A show of strength and terror can often frighten away lesser creatures without a fight.

Description
As the daughter of both a pure and an offshoot Arkanian, Ittal is a grab bag of genetic traits. She has the pure skin tone of her father, but the five-digit hands and pale blue eyes of her mother. She is often seen in a light shirt and pants over the bodyglove for her mother's armor. She wears the shield gauntlet from that armor most of the time, but leaves the rest in her quarters unless needed.
