Background
4Q-ILA, also known as "Aquila", was originally a bodyguard to a droid craftsman before being aggressively acquired by Shagduh the Hutt and memory wiped.
Built to look human, and modelled after a warrior from early human society, Aquila was far nobler than many of the beings Shagduh pit him against. His intellect, programmed by his former master's whim, drew on the strategies of the same warrior society he resembled, allowed him to triumph again and again.
At first, his victories brought Shagduh delight. The Hutt could maintain his veneer of benevolence, offering his supplicants increasingly extravagant favors, if they could beat Aquila. When the willing fools slowed to a trickle, Shagduh offered obscene rewards to lure the desperate.
In time, Aquila's success was to be his downfall. He was unbeatable in single combat, so Shagduh increased the odds. Still he prevailed, but not without cost. A nick here, a dent there.. the damage accumulated. With no time for repairs, Aquila took spare parts from his enemies and replaced them as his own.
In his final battle, Aquila faced terrible odds, but did not waver. Doing his duty, he broke blade and shield upon his foe, and drew their weapons to end the others. When the day was done, Aquila was broken, his face cleaved such that one glaring red eye remained, glowing balefully. His chassis, modelled after the prime of human fitness, was pocked and scarred, and his limbs hacked to pieces.
The arena slaves threw Aquila into the scrap heap, not knowing his will persisted in his circuits. Self-repairs by his robust construction allowed him a faint modicum of strength, and with painstaking effort, he fused new parts from the broken bodies around him to stand once more.
Aquila's shambolic entry into Shagduh's court was met with apathy. The Hutt had lost interest now that his toy no longer looked pristine. A shove from a sneering sycophant toppled the once-feared droid, and with a wave, Aquila was banished from the court.
Perhaps through his traumatic experience, Aquila lost much of his allegiance to Shagduh, longing for his past master and his former glory. It was in this state that a majordomo of Shagduh's court found Aquila, and threw him into the Wholly Legitimate Company as a.. "well, scrap should know scrap, donit?"

Description
4Q-1LA "Aquila" was originally designed as a bodyguard droid, and so verbal functions not included in his design.
After his last fight, only pieces of his original chassis, which was styled to look as human as possible, remain intact. A portion of his left face is sheared away, and Aquila covers the exposed circuitry with a battle mask. It is still apparent through the left eyeslit that there is nothing there, but a reddish glow emanates from the right and contrasts the serene expression of the battle mask.
The torso, housing his most important circuitry, is mostly intact, a testament to Aquila's prowess. It is adorned with blaster pockmarks and slashes where blades have found their mark, but none seem to have hit a critical spot.
His left arm and right leg are originals, a reminder of what was. Elegant in construction, with five fingers made to resemble a human hand. His remaining limbs are crudely industrial by comparison, with a simple three-fingered grip and four-toed foot for balance.
Draped over his chassis are tattered remnants of his former armor, a segmentata lorica with a cloth skirting.
