Background

Dakoob was born on the planet of Rodia. During his childhood he had an aptitude for repairing the impossible to repair. Later he grew a fondness of experimenting with explosives. He combined both and became a demolitionist working for several mining companies.

On a space travel to the mining colony of Bespin, his shuttle boarded by a bunch of Weequay pirates. The pirates recognized Dakoob's potential for their endeavors and forced him to enlist as a pirate. While struggling at first, he soon realized there was great profit to be gained. He developed his skills in lockpicking and ranged combat.

After a couple of years the time was ripe to continue on his own. He rigged the Weequay ship with explosives and hid in a nearby building. He detonated the explosives while the entire crew was inside and none survived the blast.

The next couple of years he was a "blast for hire" and worked without allegiance for whomever could pay his fee. After blowing up a small imperial space station, a bounty was placed upon his head. He has been on the run from the authorities since then.

Motivation

Out of the Game: Dakoob works as a mercenary not because he loves the violence, but because he needs to earn enough to buy his way out. His ultimate goal is to retire (in wealth!) to a remote planet in the outer rim to live in peace, without having to look over his shoulder for ISB agents hunting him.

Obligations

Collateral Accountability (20): the destruction of the secret imperial space station Caelestis near Rothana earned Dakoob quite some infamy within the Empire. The station was an outpost for the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB). The outpost served Captain Ronnadam as an observatory for rebel activity in the outer rim. The ISB has issued an warrant for the arrest of Dabook.

It wasn't Dakoobs intention to blow up the space station. He and his crew were captured and brought to this station. During their escape he needed to blow up an exit door. Unfortunately, he chose the wrong door and set of a number explosions resulting in the total destruction of the space station.

The fear for capture is ever-present. If this Obligation is triggered, the character can suffer setback to some or all skill checks during the session (at the GM's discretion) due to this burden on his nerves.

Description

Dakoob is a Rodian of average height. He has an grey/purple complexion and red, deep, multifaceted eyes. He has two holsters for his heavy pistols on his hips and wears a bandoleer with three grenades across his chest. In his backpack he has various other explosives and tools of the trade.
