A veteran of the Clone Wars, Koobis spent his service defending his homeworld, the breadbasket planet of Agamar, from a sustained siege by the Republic. As bodies fell and crops burned, Koobis became disillusioned by the war effort, if not the Confederacy itself. In the final months of the conflict, Koobis realized the war was lost and stole a large cache of weapons to begin to making a living selling them off. He still believes in the cause of independent star systems, and takes no small amount of pleasure in arming resistance groups against the authoritarians of the former Republic.

Koobis is motivated by his belief in the independent system movement. He also believe the movement is in no shape to directly challenge the Empire, and that he has to make a living somehow.
