Background
Born into a family of Pantoran politicos. His father (Berenn Scatora) was the right hand aide to the Pantoran senator, and his mother Dria was also politically active. His family opposed the idea of the Empire, and were outspoken republicans.
Tel grew up to become a politician himself, and wholeheartedly agreed with his parents' ideals. Being the oldest child, he was expected to follow in his father's footsteps. His first job out of the academy was in "Foreign Affairs" on Pantora. He was basically head of tourism in his city, and learned to interact with species from around the Galaxy. After a few years, as Pantora's relationship with the Empire became more strained, he was called upon to serve as ambassador to various other worlds.
When Tel's parents mysteriously disappeared while on a diplomatic mission, he realized that there was no way to change the Empire only through rhetorics. (His parents ship was eventually found, perforated with laser blasts. Their bodies were never found, and pirates were blamed for the attack.) Tel resigned from all his posts, and faded away from the political scene. This was perceived as cowardice by some, but in reality Tel sought out more militant groups opposing the Empire, and working for the liberation of enslaved worlds.
