Background
Gand has a name, but has not yet earned the right to be known by it. Gand hopes to one day be known by his name, but it is not a driving force behind his quest. He is more interested in supporting his people; he sees needless strife and division in the political system of Gand and had striven to encourage his people to pick peace over war, selflessness over corruption.
Unfortunately, Gand's hopes were dashed when a rival framed him for the very corruption he'd hoped to eliminate. Gand's good name (such as it is) has been tarnished to the point that he felt the need to flee his homeworld. He now roams the Outer and Mid Rim, not quite knowing how he will redeem himself. Perhaps he can find something that will benefit his people, thereby earning back some of the respect he as lost. Better still, he might learn the methods of criminal investigation so that he can return home and somehow prove his innocence. Only then can he resume his quest to better the lives of all Gands.
Gand met Thouridos on one of the countless backwater worlds that he's visited. Though Thouridos did not trust Gand enough to tell him his whole story, Gand can tell that he is a fellow outsider. Reading human emotions has never beens Gand's greatest strength, but he suspects Thouridos has also felt a terrible loss.
Though Gand has not seen Thouridos in some time, the bond he felt from their first encounter has lead him to heed his call.
