She's a gambler, card player, scoundrel. You'd like her

Glamorous Mirialan card sharp Casandra Wyck carries herself with an air of sophistication and insouciance. It's a facade of course, but a good one.

The prodigal daughter of a family that ran a jump-gate operation on the edge of Wild Space, Casandra squandered every opportunity the Wycks provided for her, despite her innate charm and despite being her father's favorite. From flunking out of the best schools, to dabbling in shady dealings, and incurring increasingly worrisome gambling debts — while making enemies all along the way. Casandra was considered a lost cause by her siblings. A burden to the family. Bad luck. A jinx.

Moreover, she was plagued by premonitions of disaster. When her father passed, "Jinx" left the fold. For "good" — in more ways than one. Intent on proving herself, Jinx vowed not to return... until she was a success, until she'd had a chance to "make good." Until she was able to provide for them at last, all in hopes of making up for her years of wayward excess. How would she do this? By betting on the one thing that got her this far. On the one thing that kept her alive amid hives of scum and villainy: LYING, and lying well.

And while her premonitions of disaster have not (yet) come to pass, but that hasn't stopped her from pulling a blaster to ensure a winning hand!

Motivation

To prove to her family that she can make it on her own, and to repay them (both literally and figuratively) for all that her wayward ways cost them. Ironically reclaiming her derisive nickname alludes to this private goal.

Obligations

Family (10): Casandra is the youngest daughter of war widow Vittoria Wyck, the resolute no-nonsense proprietor of a jump-gate operation on the edge of Wild Space. Casandra is considered the wayward daughter of the family however. Despite her natural charm, and status as spoiled favorite of her late father Stann Wyck, Casandra had brought nothing but greater hardship to her family. By incurring debts, making enemies, and leading a scoundrel dangerous's lifestyle — all at the (literal) expense of her family's well-being — she earned the nickname "Jinx", which she has now proudly and ironically reclaimed now that she has achieved some success as an underworld gambler. Jinx hopes to return to her homeworld one day, having proven herself able to provide for her family.

Bounty (10): Casandra became embroiled in a high-stakes Sabacc tournament and won. The thing is she MAY have cheated. Okay, definitely cheated, but still! A win is a win. Tell that to the bounty hunters in pursuit once rumor of said cheating started circulating.

Description

With piercing green eyes, an aquiline nose, and short slicked-back hair, Jinx cuts a dashing figure. The willowy, purple-skinned Mirialan is always stylishly dressed, her ears adorned with multiple piercings and her fingers adorned with a ring for each high-stakes Sabacc tournament she's won (whether said win came honestly or not). Her face bears diamond shaped Mirialan tattoos that reflect her family's heritage.
