Val Honas is a Balosar female who was born 33 BBY on the planet Balosar. Val's parents were Skip Tracers on Balosar, who rarely had any time for their daughter. This lead to them hiring a sitter and a brawny Wookiee bodyguard to watch over Val. At age 3, her parents had angered a local merchant because her parents harassed with false accusations. This lead to the merchant hiring a local bounty hunter to dispose of the couple at their residence. The bounty hunter eliminated the bodyguard and sitter with a well thrown concussive grenade and a vibro-sword. The hunter searched the place for Val's parents, but could only find Val. Much to his dismay, he was ordered to abduct the child. In the process of returning Val to the merchant, his transport vessel was attacked by a local rag tag group of gangsters. The transport crash landed onto a nearby housing platform, killing the bounty hunter in the process. Val was able to briefly use the force to avoid being crushed by falling debris. The first one to attend the crash site was none other than Jedi Master Quo Moot, who had been sent to investigate a sith terrorist group. Quo sensed Val's presence in the wreckage, and was able to rescue her. After a short discussion with her parents, they agreed that her safety would be better secured on Coruscant. Val was a slow learner, but she proved to have excellent precision with the force and a lightsaber as a youngling. Although she came from a family with a vast criminal history, she held firm to the Jedi beliefs and values. She was granted the title of Padawan at the age of 13, and was one of four padawan's assigned to Jedi Master Quo Moot & Jedi General Kotran Arani on the jungle Planet Kroosis. Guiding the 17th "Dagger" Shock Battalion, they were able reinforce several legions on nearby planets and decisively crush a CIS forward operating base on Kroosis. Despite the Republics substantial victories against the CIS, upon issue of order 66, the Jedi's happiness had turned into dread. Master Quo Moot disappeared without a trace, leaving General Kotran Arani to defend their Padawans. His final guidance for the Padawans was to be, "Be nimble, be smart" while holding off advancing clone troopers. Heeding their masters advice, the group departed from Kroosis, in search of a new life...
