Background
At a young age, Yura had a knack for flying alongside her mother in the skies and space of Batuu. While not growing up with a father she knew, her mother took great interest in Yura's activities and wanted to hone her skills so that they may be used to grant her a distinct position in the future. Living came somewhat easy on Batuu with the atmosphere of Black Spire and its denizens, as well as the accessibility of many essentials in town.
When the First Order came to Batuu, Yura's mother was a great critic of its arrival, as a former Rebel and New Republic pilot. She was disappeared, and Yura never saw her again. In her grief, Yura banded with the Resistance to fight against the First Order. She showed great prowess, outclassing many existing pilots in Resistance forces--except for Poe Dameron, who noted the woman's skills and thought she could be sharpened into a strong squadron leader if she learned how to lead. Yura accepted his teachings and became a capable squadron leader, fighting alongside her pilots in her New Republic Y-wing. She was stationed aboard the Bunker Buster Hosnian's Blood and fought at the Battle of Batuu when the Finalizer appeared over her world, leading with proficiency to cripple its systems.
Striking from the verdant world of Ajan Kloss, Hosnian's Blood and its squadron were sent to attack First Order patrols in various systems, unaware of the late Emperor's plan to return and control the galaxy once more until Lando Calrissian sent a call to Exegol. Arriving with hundreds of ships her mother had shown her from her days in the Rebellion, between Hammerheads, U-wings, the Ghost, and various other civilian and pirate craft, Hosnian's Blood and Yura's squadron fought hard over Exegol. They destroyed Star Destroyer components in coordinated strikes and avoided destructive TIE Daggers, though many fell above Exegol following an unexpected lightning strike in the skies.
