Phenius Liun was the youngest son of Logild and Kandra - outspoken Pantoran traditionalists with strong republican ideals. This landed them in much trouble in the early days of the Empire. One evening, when Phenn was only ten years old, assassins (presumably hired by the Empire) broke in to their residence and slaughtered his family. His older brother Ginnux was able to hide Phenn, before he himself was cut down by one of the assassins.

Phenn survived in the streets for a few months, before smuggling himself onto a freighter and left the system, supporting himself by stealing from travelers in various spaceports.

When Phenn was 15 he broke into an Imperial officer's residence on the jungle planet Ithor (after hearing that the officer, Harken, had confiscated a rare and precious Ithorian figurine). He did indeed manage to steal the figurine - but triggered the alarms, and was caught on holocams. He had to hide the figurine in a crevice outside the city, and then leave the planet. He is hoping to one day go back and find it - but knows that he is wanted by Ithorian authorities, as well as (personally) by the Imperial Officer Harken - who is furious to have lost his precious artifact.

Phenn travelled around the Galaxy, hitching a ride when he could - working with smugglers and pirates. For a couple of months he teamed up with a Corellian smuggler named Kel Novastar, who got him involved in some heist jobs in the Mid-Rim. They recently ended up with the crew of the freighter "The Sordid Past," where Kel introduced Phenn to the rest of the crew. Phenn and Kel have a good relationship, with much good humored teasing. However, Phenn suspects that something is odd with Kel. He has seen him meditate in his quarters, mumbling things about "the Force." And then there is that torch-looking cylinder that Kel hides in his coat. It looks kind of like what Phenn imagines old Jedi lightsabers may have looked like. Maybe Kel is one of those "old-time religion" followers, pretending to be knights or guardians or whatever...?

While on a recent smuggling run at Arda I, the ship got boarded and attacked, and the crew (including the captain, Renkins) was killed. Hiding in the hidden cargo hold, another group of renegades boarded The Sordid Past, at took off with the ship - with Kel and Phenn still hiding onboard!

Criminal: Phenn is wanted by authorities on Ithor (and personally by the Imperial Officer Harken) for stealing a precious Ithorian artifact.
