Background
Run Gunrarl grew up on Sullust. He always craved more adventure than the average Sullustan, and worked hauling minerals across the surface of Sullust from mines that could not easily be reached by tunnel. He was adept at avoiding the many dangers on Sullust's surface, and had a lucrative position in a transport agency. After SoroSuub took control of Sullust, the lucrative transport jobs dried up. Those jobs were now doled out as a punishment for dissidents that spoke out against SoroSuub or the Empire.
Run was able to use his savings to make it off world before being press-ganged into service for SoroSuub. He traveled coreward on the Rimma Trade Route all the way to Abregado-Rae. While there, he was starting to build a clientele that needed a proficient driver. That all came to an end when he found himself on the wrong side of Abregado-Rae's corrupt government.
Unbeknownst to Run, some of his competitors pooled their resources to bribe the officials to make it hard for the Sullustan to continue business. It worked. The Sullustan now found himself accused of various petty crimes and in violation of ordinances that he never knew existed. Many of which seemed to have been created specifically for the situation he was in.
Not having the money for the fines that were piling up by the day, and not wanting to spend time in prison, Run found himself needing a way off Abregado-Rae in a hurry. He was able to secure a loan to get him off Abregado-Rae and off the Rimma Trade Route. Run now found himself in the outer rim territories needing to pay back a sizable debt before the interest makes it impossible to get clear.
Motivation
Like most Sullustans, Run Gunrarl is curious and has a desire to explore the galaxy. Even more than this, he desires the freedom to chart his own course. Run chafes at being tied down or having a debt hanging over his head. He hopes to be able to leverage his expertise to pay off his debts and figures the less regimented outer rim is the best place to do so.
Obligations
Debt: (x obligation) Run Gunrarl owes a sizable debt to the Bounty Hunter's Guild that got him off Abregado-Rae. Not having the time to shop for a better deal, he had to take what the guild was offering. If he doesn't get it paid back (or down) soon, the interest will begin to build up. Whether this is in credits or favors for the guild, Run won't know until they come to collect.
