Background
A racially targeted bombing left Sotu an only child when the rest of his clutch was destroyed, along with most of the peers he would have grown up around. As a result he is less competitive than the average Nemoidian, yet still prideful of his perceived skill and intellect. An unrecognized touch of Force sensitivity gives him insight deeper than most, which led to his career in criminal investigations as a detective for hire. Sotu was hired at some point for an unbiased opinion in an investigation which quickly led him off planet toward more frequent and challenging work. Sotu has become enamored with unsolved mysteries and the criminal mind.
Motivation
Injustice: Racial oppression - As a result of the Clone Wars many species hold contempt for Nemoidians. Sotu has been on the receiving end of this prejudice for years. While he agrees that this hatred is not unfounded, he also believes that racial association should not extend to the individuals within that race. This lack of species favoritism on both sides has led to answers in previous investigations, and has matured a sense of necessity to be a voice for similarly oppressed species in other circumstances.
Morality
Strength: Pride - As a Nemoidian, Sotu's self confidence in his own skill is never called into question. If there is something he doesn't know he will eagerly seek answers to improve himself further. He doesn't enjoy settling for partial answers as that would suggest a lack of skill on his part.
Weakness: Obsession - Sotu's pursuit of mysteries and the truth behind them can make him blind to his own actions or the distresses of others around him. Even after the consequences of his blindness are shown to him, he will immediately fall back on the answers he sacrificed for as justification.
Description
Approaching old age, already walks with his signature cane, less finely dressed than other Nemoidians, wears a spent slugthrower shell casing around his neck as a memento from his first case.
