Background
Mochi was never going to thrive on Umbara. In a world of politicking, she struggled to speak. While other students studied Cronau radiation, she struggled to take in so much as a page. While her neighbors' children played with Gyrocubes, she struggles to even turn one side. She could see what she had to do, picture it in her mind, sometimes even feel a hand guiding her to do all these things...but never could. It frustrated her so much that she rarely did anything but sit around the house with her mom, a Holonet journalist called Torea, and watch old serials. Her favorite was The Starsleuth, a woman who could go anywhere, do anything, and ended every episode with a new friend or lesson learned.
It was clear that Mochi needed medical help, but her parents didn't have the social standing or the funds to acquire it, not with how low they were on Umbaran's rungs. Her father, Firenz, who had always resented the overbearing social structure, did his best to help her despite that. He tried making mechanical gauntlets, braces, using scraps from his workplace, to help with her dexterity, but they did little to help.
Mochi tried to help herself by taking on affectations, by making what words she could get out as effective as they could be, but still, she was a pariah. An anchor around the ankles of anyone trying to climb the social ladder. It was Torea who found a solution; one of her shadier contacts, a Kaleesh by the name of Koto Vax, was willing to help smuggle Mochi off of Umbara, but not until she was 18 - the penalty for smuggling children being too high for even him to risk. He could take her to a cybersurgeon, top of her field, but cheap and far below the board, who had more secondhand implants stocked than she knew what to do with. Including cranial implants, just the kind of thing Mochi would need.
Mochi left Umbara full of anxiety, not sure of when she'd get to see her parents again, and soon arrived at The Hammertail, a modified Hammerhead Starship from ancient times and the mobile base of Auntie Imp, an all-natural twi'lek with a fondness for tech and the premier cybersurgeon of scum (Though never for anyone, or organization, that harmed children). She was welcoming, even sympathetic to Mochi, and had something special for her: A scavenged, but good-as-new, cranial implant that had been brought in from Nar Shaddaa.
The surgery was a success. As she recovered, Mochi found that she could move like a regular person, her balance was perfect, her stutter had faded, she could even focus better. And one night, as she rested, she found that her connection to the guiding hand she'd sensed before was stronger than it had ever been. But on that same night, she heard a voice that wasn't her own in her head. She thought it might have been that guiding hand, but it quickly became clear it wasn't. it wasn't so soft or kind, nor did it have the patience she'd expected. It was its own person, and one quite happy to tease her for her weaknesses. How much of what she could do now was her own strength, if she relied on the implant for it? Could she ever take control of her life without someone else's charity? Could she even use the Force, given she didn't even know its name, or recognize it, until this stranger in her head told her?
Mochi didn't have much time left for introspection, as the Empire had, for some reason, come to attack The Hammertail. Auntie Imp had her Droids man the machinery and Mochi, along with some other patients, climb into disguised escape pods while she attempted to flee the Empire's wrath. Each escapee was locked in stasis, to keep them safe from the Empire's scanners and healthy in case of a rescue. A rescue that soon came for Mochi in the form of a cell of Duros rebels, hoping to scavenge from the battle, and mostly finding a gaggle of recovering surgery patients.
The Duros did a few things. The criminals, they considered the worth of, whether they were worth recruiting or turning in for bounties. But Mochi and a few others were no such thing, so they were smuggled into places with other rebel groups for the sake of their own recovery and health, because if the Empire did capture the Hammertail, they would likely have records of its patients, as well. A terrified Mochi was delivered to Corellia, where she'd be able to mostly blend in with the human population, and where rebels were much needed.
That is where she finds herself now. Almost-creditless, with a debt to a cause she doesn't have much familiarity with, and with a devil's voice whispering in her ear...

Description
Mochi is a lanky teen, standing at six foot tall with a lean build and long legs. Her skin is the typical Umbaran white, with wavy silver hair cut just below her jawline and pale blue eyes. She has an expressive face, helped by the gray markings under her eyes, thick eyebrows, and a big mouth.
She tends to dress in blacks and blacks, whites, and reds to varying degrees, with a particular fondness for suspenders. Since she has to live on Corellia, she's taken to wearing coats, cloaks, glasses, and hats to protect her delicate Umbaran biology from the light of Corell. She carries a telescopic baton for self-defense, which also acts as a flashlight on the other end.
