Background
But a young teen when the Clone Wars began, Elenor Herrick was born to a well-to-do family in the Core Systems, and thus watched the Wars from afar. But she quietly hoped it would last long enough for her to be able to join the Grand Army of the Republic to help it win the war. She would not be granted this chance, as the war ended before she'd reached the age of enlistment. Of course, of added trouble was a genetic defect that meant she would end up having to transplant her brain to a full-body replacement due to her body's growing failure as the nerves began to misfire or die. She would thus have to spend the rest of her teenage years 'updating' her body's new chassis to match with her age, opting to stop the process, thus technically locking her 'physical' age to that of 24.
With the rise of the Empire, she would instead enter into one of it's Officer Academy's, earning herself a commission as an Imperial Officer in the Imperial Army. It would be while serving as an officer in this capacity that her distrust of the Emperor would arise. While she did not immediately defect, as she hoped he would turn from the path he was on, she would eventually find herself left with little after several operations she had to lead resulted in the unjust imprisonment and subjugation of civilian populations that had done nothing but voice dissatisfaction with the Empire.
Eventually, she would form a cadre of loyal officers and troopers under her command, and they would, during a 'routine' mission to 'quell resistance' of a local population, go MIA. This cadre of 30 people under her command would form a new Rebel Cell in 10BBY, bringing with them a knowledge and experience with Imperial doctrine and tactics to the fore, allowing for themselves to become a nightmare for any Imperial forces they fell upon outside of the Stormtrooper Corps, due to their belief and assumption that they faced rag-tag militia's made of civilians picking up weapons with no training or experience.
While she would never have a major unit in the Alliance to Restore the Republic once it formed, her unit would be often used to help with disrupting Imperial forces by attacking it's supplies or command bunkers. With the New Republic, she would then be promoted to the rank of Commander, and be placed in charge of a much larger unit, formally organized and structured as the 101st Rapid Response Division, and be tasked with the effort to help the New Republic to stabilize the galaxy not with aggressive military force and presence, but rather with hearts and minds and the occasional strike against criminals and Imperial Remnants who continued to cause trouble in her assigned region.
Motivation
Her main goals are as follow:
Help restore peace and stability to her assigned region of space.
Help counter the 2 decades of Imperial propaganda by showing how the New Republic actually cared for it's people.
Assist settlements and planets decide for itself if it wished to join the New Republic.
