Spend 🌓🌓 to reduce damage from an energy-based weapon that hits himself or an engaged character by amount equal to Willpower plus 1 per success. Dark side Force users may only protect themselves.
Unleash: The user makes an Unleash power check as ranged attack and rolls an Average (2 difficulty) Discipline check for difficulty. If check succeeds and spends 🌓🌓, the attack hits. It has a range of short, a base damage equal to Willpower, and a critical rating of 4. The user gains 1 Conflict.
Upgrade Effect
Control Protect: Spend advantage to gain defense equal to advantage spent.
Unleash: Spend advantage to inflict 1 strain on target.

Background

Ashoda Val is from the Togruta homeworld of Shili. She lived with her parents until the age of 9. Until then, Ashoda, much like other Togruta, focused mostly on trying to contribute to her pack. Around 9 she managed to defeat an akul, and the way she had done it had drawn attention. She was soon picked up by a jedi knight and taken to the temple.

As a youngling, Ashoda was always getting in trouble over either intentionally going missing in the city(though she often wound up at the same diner), or neglecting her duties to go and read in the library or practice form V. It was very easy to tell when she was missing as classes her clan attended were much quieter without her around.

Soon after she completed her training as a youngling, she was assigned to Jedi Knight Chinro as a padawan.

In the beginning stages of the war, Ashoda's lightsaber was damaged in combat with a cyborg, so she left on a pilgrimage. During her pilgrimage she wound up on Ilum and repaired the lightsaber. Eventually after several months of wandering through republic space and planets she had returned to the fleet.

Soon after returning to the fleet, the Pilgrim was surrounded by several sith vessels and boarded. Ashoda was captured in the fighting, and in captivity began undergoing training to be sith against her will. Eventually she broke, and the corrupted remnant is what remains.

Motivation

Ashoda is motivated through fear of Darth (insert big bad guy's name here), her thirst for knowledge and her desire for vengeance. She still wishes to explore the galaxy and discover lost temples and artifacts, but much of her youthful inexperience and exuberance has vanished.

Ashoda is curious about new information and experiences. It can get to the point where she sometimes neglects her duties or even forgets to eat.

Ashoda fears for the future, her family, her friends, the order, the republic and last but not least her people.

Duty:
Sabotage/Assassination/Hunting. Ashoda is both a personal assassin and one of the apprentices of Darth (insert big bad guy's name here) Her most common assignment is to sneak into a facility or ship, sabotage it and leave. She does however sometimes get sent to track down and destroy particular targets as well.

Description

Ashoda's skin is reddish orange and her montrals and lekku both are white with deep purple stripes. She wears a glued-on Akul-tooth headpiece. She is around 160 cm tall and is 18 years of age.

Deep down Ashoda is still the same frightened padawan, but she has been twisted to the whims of Darth (insert big bad guy's name here). Ashoda is terrified of him/her and he/she manipulates Ashoda's fear to make Ashoda serve him/her. Ashoda fears his/her wrath more than anything, and attempts to enact his/her will to stave it off. Extended time in private with her new master before she fell to the dark side has somewhat tempered Ashoda's more reckless side, and as a result she often uses her mind more often than her blade when dealing with dangerous situations. Her new master has fomented hatred in her towards her master due to the time before she fell, and her former colleagues due to feeling like she was left for dead.
