Was working a quiet job as a well-to-do head of security and occasional security consultant on a prosperous planet within the Core Worlds when his employer/s were quite suddenly ousted and arrested for alleged contact with the Rebellion (a maliciously false claim, assuredly). This naturally would have left him caught in the crossfire, had he not been notified mere minutes before the crackdown (Was he tipped-off by an anonymous/estranged contact? Or was he indeed forced to flee with the Law hot on his tail? Either way, he's a wanted man).

Knowing full well that the Empire bears down on anyone possessing the slightest hint of Rebellion association with vicious fervor, he did not hesitate to hightail it and lay low, far from the Empire's reach. Naturally, this led him towards Nar Shaddaa, where he hoped to 'catch up' with an old contact.
