Background
Originally designed as an pilot droid in the days of the Old Republic, L-99 was modified to act as a barter droid on a freighter ship for the renowned outer rim data-tape trader Vyo Jaittelo. In an unorthodox arrangement, L-99 took ownership of the ship after Vyo succumbed to wounds sustained in a pirate skirmish. L-99 briefly continued their profession as a trader until a malfunction caused the frieghter to crash during takeoff from Jerrist VI. There, L-99 established a career as an expert librarian.
