Background
1) How did you discover your force sensitivity?
After his service in the Rebel Alliance as a bushwhacker on his homeworld of Kashyyyk, he found himself in emotional turmoil. His long reflections brought out a deeper awareness of the world around him, which was identified by his elders as something approximating the Force.
2) Describe a moment where you fell prey to your moral weakness or experienced a tragedy/horror that still haunts you.
On Kashyyk, Chiiserlakk and his fellow soldiers encountered a patrol of rank-and-file Imperial Soldiers sent out to find and kill Chiiserlakk. The enemy soldiers attempted to surrender during the battle, but Chii had killed them. It was only afterwards he realized they had tried to negotiate a surrender in the first place. The stresses of war, his rage, it had all culminated into something fundamentally *wrong.*
3) How did you come to join the NJO?
After the Galactic Civil War against the Emperor was won, Chiiserlakk went back to his home on Kashyyk and resumed his position as a traditional warrior of his people. However, he found that he could not. The war had opened his eyes to the suffering of not just his own people, but the galaxy itself.
He felt aimless, restless. Without a purpose.
After awakening to the Force and deep self-reflection, he elected to go to the New Jedi Order to join the warriors who defended the galaxy, with a philosophy that would perhaps give him the enlightenment and purpose he so desperately sought.
4) Name one NPC your character has a strong connection with. This could be a family member, a friend, a work contact, or a bitter rival.
Commander Zacjer Clatac, Human, 58
Zacjer was responsible for freeing Chiiserlakk and a small group of his people after the destruction of the first Death Star in a daring raid against an Imperial slaver compound. He convinced Chiiserlakk to use his talents as a warrior and Wookiee heritage to become a guerrilla fighter of his own homeworld.
5) Describe a moment in your life where you demonstrated your moral strength despite adversity.
After the liberation of Kashyyyk and Chiiserlakk's re-instating of a warrior for his people, a group of individuals came down and posed as visitors to the planet, refugees of lingering pockets of conflict. In reality, they were smugglers that stole priceless artifacts. Chiiserlakk apprehended the criminals, who begged for mercy. They had run into deep debt, and their lives were at stake if they could not produce enough credits to pay it off.
Chiiserlakk brought them before the justice system of Kashyyyk, and Chiiserlakk personally not only brought truthful testimony, admitting uncertainty in grey areas that risked getting the criminals off the hook, and even pleaded their case on their behalf. In the end, they were granted protection in exchange for services, to which the smugglers agreed.
