Background
Early Life
Born to wealthy landowners in the southern hemisphere of Corellia, Zarri was all set for a privileged upbringing to be one of the stars of her planet’s political life. Showing interest in music from an early age to the great delight of her mother she had piano and singing lessons as soon as she could.
Upon having her force sensitivity discovered by the Corellian Jedi, she moved to their temple but was able to keep in touch with her family and continue in her artistic endeavors.
Jedi training
Extremely averse to physical endeavours, Zarri did the bare minimum of training around the lightsaber, seeing it as a mental exercise rather than a physical one. For this reason, the little saber training she did do was specialised into the Makashii form despite its questionable usefulness in her day and age. It was this vehement specialisation away from the things that the Jedi were famous for across the galaxy that piqued master Shal’Dor’s interest as Zarri’s skills were complementary. Shal’Dor was an expert at the underhanded and violent side of negotiations while Zarri could do all the above board diplomatic negotiations as naturally as breathing. During Zarri’s Padawancy, the two formed an indomitable team and would continue to work together until Shal’Dor’s death at the hands of Valin Kerr.
Zarri’s Music on Corellia
Even with her Jedi training, and later her medical training, Zarri always made time for music. Specialising in the piano and voice. Playing for hour after hour in the evening, it helped her to meditate and to recharge after the day’s events.
In the last year she spent on Corellia before moving to Coruscant to begin her medical training, Zarri joined a Jatz band, Shichihaku. They were good enough to get some gigs fronting for other bands in Coronet city. Having wealthy patrons in Zarri’s parents helped them get these gigs but their music was high-enough quality to quash any rumours that they only got their gigs through money.
When Zarri left Corellia for Coruscant, the band suffered. Not only had they lost their pianist and singer, they’d also lost their funding. All four members were into the band just for the joy of playing and sharing their joy of music, but when they got a new pianist they were snapped up by a record label who screwed them. The band broke up and Zarri ended up buying them out of their contract from her own funds, using the majority of her capital and leaving a dent in her finances that she was still feeling until the events of Order 66.
Even with that bailout, a couple of her old band members still blamed her for the situation they’d ended up in and the four have drifted apart.
Zarri’s Music on Coruscant
After seeing what happened to her first band, Zarri kept her music to what she could play herself. She still played in public, but it was just her rather than a band of four.
She gained a small following among Jatz and Jazz enthusiasts but wasn’t interested in fame or marketing since her duties as a Jedi prevented her from playing as much as she would like.
