Background
Kalen’du So-Pah was once a prominent cultural attaché in the Core Worlds, known for his ability to settle disputes over a warm meal and refined conversation. When he refused to aid an Imperial Governor in a corrupt land grab, his titles were stripped, and he was branded a traitor.
Now a "displaced diplomat" on the Outer Rim, Kalen’du uses his noble upbringing to navigate the criminal underworld. He encountered the crew while they were hunting for their stolen ship—he was stranded at the same port, using his last credits to buy a round of drinks for the locals to gather intel. Seeing a pilot, a medic, and a hacker in need of a "face," he offered his services. He isn't just their negotiator; he is the soul of the ship, ensuring that even in the darkest corners of the galaxy, the crew has a leader who cares for their spirit as much as their survival.
Motivation
Kalen’du has lost his palaces, his titles, and his heritage to the Empire. He has decided that he will never lose his "family" again. He views the pilot, the medic, and the hacker not just as business associates, but as his new sovereign house.
The Goal: His primary drive is the prosperity and mental well-being of his teammates. He wants to recover the stolen ship because he knows it represents the crew's freedom and home. To Kalen’du, loyalty is the only currency that hasn't been devalued by the Imperial credits.
Obligations
To escape the Imperial purge of his noble house, Kalen’du had to call in every favor and take a massive loan from a shadowy financial syndicate (or perhaps a disgruntled former business partner).
The Weight: While he is safe for now, the interest is mounting. This debt keeps him tied to the criminal underworld, forcing him to take "high-risk, high-reward" smuggling jobs. Occasionally, his creditors send a reminder—either in the form of a bounty hunter or a demand for a "diplomatic favor" that puts his and his crew's lives at risk.
Description
Kalen’du is a Twi’lek of striking [Insert Skin Color] skin, possessing a natural grace that even the dust of the Outer Rim cannot tarnish. He wears the remnants of his former life: a high-collared, reinforced dueling cape and tailored tunics that, while slightly frayed, still carry the silhouette of Core World nobility. He carries himself with the calm confidence of someone who has dined with Senators but feels equally at home sharing a campfire with smugglers.
He is the "emotional anchor" of the crew. Where others see a tactical problem, Kalen’du sees a human (or alien) one. He is rarely seen without a warm smile or a small container of rare seasoning, firmly believing that a well-fed and respected crew is an invincible one.
