Background
VX-23 was originally built by the Empire to act as a normal protocol droid.
He was destroyed by his owner in a fit of rage.
Rebel insurgents found "VX's" remains and rebuilt him, programming him as a 'hunter/killer'. "VX" took the name "Vox" and developed a penchant for criminal investigation.
Vox proved to be an effective agent and freelance detective. The Rebellion made him a free citizen. As happy as Vox was, he very much wanted to bring to justice his owner - a war criminal, and civil criminal, Lord Pompanoff. Unfortunately, Pompanoff was (and is) being protected by Imperial allies.
