Background

Scion of Legacy:

One of the most powerful motivations in a character's life can be his parents or other mentors. Many children follow in the footsteps of their fathers and mothers, even if they only do so because that is what is expected of them. However, living up to the reputation of an elder can be difficult even when that is what the character desires most. At some point the character's own life, personality, and morality might come in conflict with the reputation of his forebears, and he must change himself or break with the past
Jer was born into life as an enforcer for the Black Sun. Jer's dad is the only family he ever knew. That man was a mechanic born and raised, and he wanted nothing more in life than to get out of the gang. He slipped up in a low time after his wife disappeared and soon after joining the gang got their hands on his son Jer, much to his dismay.

Motivation

Violent Conquest: The character is driven to conquer whatever and whomever he comes across. If they do not submit, he is more than willing to employ force against them.

Obligations

Magnitude 10 Criminal: The character has a criminal record, or was accused of a crime (perhaps one he didn't even commit), and is somehow embroiled in the legal system. Obligation may be settled by paying ongoing legal costs, making attempts to bury evidence, or efforts to prove his innocence.
Jer got caught beating the credits out of old man who refused to pay up.
