1). After unknowingly using force enhance for many years he would eventually find out that he was force sensitive through his discovery of a new power, move object.

2). The day he discovered his ability he accidentally killed someone who attacked his brother. Rennik has waffled between being racked with guilt and feeling righteous about what he did, perhaps if he hadn't done what he did his brother would be dead.

3). After killing the man Rennik knew they had to leave Coruscant. The only way off the planet was to find a Jedi and prove to him he was force sensitive. After finding a Jedi he proved his sensitivity and the Jedi reluctantly accepted Rennik's brother, as a service worker, as well.

4). Rennik has a strong connection with his non-force sensitive brother, Daro. Daro is a few years older and not acclimating well to service to the Jedi. Daro is very ambitious and does not plan on staying with the Jedi for long.

5). Rennik fought with his brother to open their small home to other fellow street rats and urchins alike. He would shoulder the burden of attempting to help feed and clothe them. This would inadvertently turn into a small gang of cut purses and thieves.
