Gri Takar was a child in a family of avid hunters. Since being a child, his father has taught him in the ways of the hunt, and because of this, him and his brother have grown with a strong rivalry, constantly pulling them apart from one another. Because of this rivalry to be the best in the family, success was even more important than just gaining the success and valor that comes with taking part in the hunt.

In his younger days, he was in a Trandoshan camp, unarmed, resting in the tent. While he slept, a band of Wookiee attacked the camp, blasting the small group of Trandoshans. However, when the wookie captain found Gri in the tent, he spared his life, as he did not want to kill an unarmed man, even a Trandoshan. The wookie instead grabbed his weapons and rushed out of the camp with his men. Tsarkar was enraged about the fallen trandoshan comrads that the Wookiee has killed at first. But a few years later, Gri raided a wookie village with some other trandoshans. In one of the tents, however, he found an unarmed wookie child. Gri wanted to kill him for points in the hunt, but he remembered the compassion the wookie had shown him mysteriously in the past. Truth be told, at this moment he realized how much trouble he had had since then killing innocents for the purpose of the hunt. He hid the wookie in blankets and when his fellow hunters entered the room, he steered them away form the child.
At this moment, Gri realized the hunt was not for him. He had no problem defeating enemies that were threats to others. He was a prominent pilot, and made a plan to leave his life behind on Trandosha. Gri stole his father’s ship, tons of money, and smuggled the wookie child off of Trandosha, bringing him to a safe home on Kashyyyk. Soon after, Gri used his piloting abilities to travel across the galaxy, making a fortune as a smuggler. He used the funds he gained to not only grow in his riches, but to give to other runaways and outcasts like him who needed help.

After a few years smuggling, however, his past caught up to him. Gri’s brother had been hunting him for years, his father had placed a massive bounty on his head, and the hunt offered an award for Gri’s head. Gri spent years slyly evading them, but one day while making a spice run, his brother leaped out of hyperspace and blasted his ship to the ground. In the crash, Gri escaped through the escape pod with basic supplies, but much of his fortune and his father’s ship were in pieces on the ground. His brother tried to find him on the planet below, but Gri was able to escape on a small shuttle. Now, Gri travels the galaxy in hopes to evade his family and grow his fortune, helping others like him along the way.

Ever since he could remember, Gri has felt a strange presence with him. This presence may be what convinced him to spare the young Wookiee’s life that spiraled his life out of control, but he always listens to it, as it tends to help him escape danger at strange times. He knows nothing of the feeling, what it is, or why it helps him, but he has never thought much of it. However, at times he has pondered finding those who may have greater knowledge of what it could be.
