While his willingness to sacrifice himself and his ship toward a mission objective helped him score well in simulations, it was this same lack of self-preservation that prevented him from being moved into a command role. Instead, he is often picked as a reliable pilot and trusted asset for special operations and even shuttle and lander piloting in combat zones, but is usually returned to the general barracks soon after, rather than be assigned to a specific Jedi or task force.
