Background

Kal was just a baby when this happened and he was still in the medical ward in 5 BBY. He was the son to a small family of miners on some back water planet. But that wasn't to last when some people came looking for his parents because of debts. So they gave him to a trusted friend Mim someone they had known since the clone wars. Mim was a jedi before order 66 and when she took Kal as her own she immediately knew he couldn't stay on the planet. SO with a heavy heart she took Kal to Madalor where she thought he would be safe.

Mim was watching over Kal as he played with the other children on Madalor. While he was playing however, a man in black armor sat next to Mim and placed the blade emitter of a lightsaber on her side. Mim gets up, calm as the sea can be before a raging storm, and starts to walk with the man; she asks to say goodbye to her child and the man lets her.The inquisitor lets her go and tells her to come back with the child suspecting he too might be force sensitive. Mim nods and turns to the man shooting him point blank with a look of hatred on her face. Without breaking her calm visage, she turns to her child and tells him to say goodbye to his friends; they needed to leave. Kal looked at the other children and sadly waved goodbye and went to his adopted mother.

“Come along Darren; it’s time for dinner,” Mim smiles beneath her mask, “And we need to pack for our trip.” She makes sure he doesn’t look at the man lying cold.

“Okay mommy,” Kal said running to her with an innocent smile.

The duo left to a planet called Belkadan, a world on the edge of wild space. It didn’t last before they had to move again and again.They eventually arrived at Korriban, Mim reluctantly so. They had spent several years on the planet hidden by the dark side of the force that covered the planet.Kal in the later part of these years spent this time training in the force, being taught by Mim. Korriban with it’s dark side energy deeply impacted Kal as it constantly bombarded him with visions and nightmares of the “future,” where Mim was killed brutally by the Empire and it’s inquisitors. Kal would eventually come into contact with a Sith ghost who would promise him that he would gain a great power by turning to the dark side of the force; however, Mim was able to stop Kal from doing so and freed him from the temptation, though it may still linger in the back of his head.
During their time on Korriban, a Sith inquisitor by the name of Neffe (Mim laughed at his name),found them and took a special interest in Kal. He landed his ship in front of the duo’s makeshift home and activated his saber. Mim spotted him and tried to take the diplomatic route but that failed; thus she was forced to ignite her green lightsaber. The fight between the two was fierce; Mim slashed Neffe’s face but Neffe was able to destroy her saber.
Kal had rushed outside due to the noise and force pulled a vibrosword to him and her fought the inquisitor with everything he had, Kal knew he was outmatched and instead of fighting with his muscles he used his head. By controlling distance he was able to keep himself alive. He greatest achievement of his life was a fight he didn't win but survived.
The inquisitor, after a while, overwhelmed Kal and sent him back with a powerful force push and with his other hand he started to force choke Mim, enjoying her suffering each second. Kal was enraged by this, and for that split moment he fell to the dark side. Letting it consume him completely; and he used a massive force wave to send the inquisitor back to the ship they came from. Mim, at that moment, decided that even on Korriban; they weren’t safe especially with Kal being so exposed to the dark side.
Mim after the fight again went to hopping planets to try and hide but when Kal had reached his teens something happened. He had become defiant and when a bounty hunter tracked them down against Mim's orders Kal went to fight him. Mim followed him but her power wasn't enough. They lost to the bounty hunter and as a result Mim died saving Kal.
Years passed and Kal would grow becoming strong in his own right. He used the skills he learned on Korriban to help his navigate the underworlds of various cities and places he visited. He also took the hobby as a temple hunter searching for lost temples and the such which has gotten him in trouble on multiple occasions with Imperial forces but he didn't care. It's not like they could catch him anyway. Kal has to this day a struggle with the darkside. Kal heard of the NJO inside of a couple bars and cantinas he visits from time to time. He would end up tracking the location of this place and finding refugee ships to get on board of and travel by hopping from one to another.

Motivation

AMBITION BECOME A JEDI
Kal wished to become a jedi and through that he wants to go and search for the hidden/ lost temples.
FAITH IN THE CODE
Mim told Kal of her past as the jedi and ingrained the jedi code into his head. He follows it as it's one of the only sources he has left of her.

Morality

Strength:
Cleaverness- Kal has very clever since birth being able to solve complicated puzzles and traps in very unusual ways.
Weakness:
Defiance-Kal in by his nature defiant to most chains of power. He hates being controlled.

Description

Kal is a boy with red hair and silver grey eyes. He stands at 5'11 and has a build much similar to that of a boxer.
