Oberona is the daughter of a noble house and she was a precocious child. When scarcely four and a half years old, she entertained a visiting foreign delegation with a performance on the valachord. A great part of her early education came from her mother. By the age of nine, Oberona could read and write four languages. At this time her parents divorced and Oberona was sent to live in the court of a royal family on another planet, which threatened her status. Although her father promised they would be together several times per year, visits were few and far between, and then stopped altogether. Vivacious, beautiful, and clever, Oberona nonetheless had a promising adolescence. At the court, she was a favorite with everyone. She studied history and played sports with the children of the servants in secret.

Oberona Vertte has a fair complexion with dark eyes and brown hair. Oberona is strong, ruthless, and ambitious. She lacks all humanity. Her burning ambition motivates her singular drive for power. She persistently taunts others in private, but in public, she is able to act as the consummate hostess.
