Background
How did you discover your force sensitivity?
During work in the Coruscant shipyard of The Galley-La Company as a junior foreman after working years as a regular mechanic. It was her big break; her finally moving up in the world.
But while she was on the job, tragedy struck; an explosion of a recently-installed (but supposed to have been off) power core caused mass injuries and mass amounts of metal, debris, and scaffolding which impeded the first-responders. In a panic, she exhibited a strength she didn't know she had or was possible by a human, dragging people out and pulling back durasteel with nothing but a crowbar, leverage, and sheer force of muscle and will.
This saved lives; as oft-said about accidents, every second counts, even the ones spent waiting to get the heavy equipment to dig people out underneath durasteel. Even cutters take time that may not be available.
Afterwards, when questioned later how Brie found the survivors nobody else could, she couldn't answer beyond a gut feeling. She had often dreamed of joining the Jedi as a fantasy... but after that realization that there was no way she could have even known exactly where they were without some kind of sixth sense, she wondered if there might be something more to it.
Describe a moment where you fell prey to your moral weakness or experienced a tragedy/horror that still haunts you.
Brie is unsure... but she believes her own carelessness caused the accident.
First, deadlines had gotten tight, and her boss, Effclay Haldow, had been pressing on her to be more efficient. She let some corners be cut.
Second, she had been daydreaming all throughout her most recent inspection. It was the same thing it had always been, being on a life of adventure and great glory and wealth. Of course, before, she could simply let her hands go for menial tasks as her mind wandered... but she knew full-well that as a foreman, things were very different.
And third, she was ordered by Haldow to cover it up. She did. She never spoke to reporters, denied the incident ever happened, and "amended" her reports to cause them to appear more favourably on company records. By the time it was done, a potential costly scandal was a small-time news story buried underneath the thousands of other news stories that happen in Coruscant every day.
Brie wonders if she had been paying more attention, whether the victims that she didn't manage to "save" would be alive.
How did you come to join the NJO?
Brie idolized the Jedi since she was growing up. She had always daydreamed of being a Jedi, joining their ranks. After the accident where she displayed powers that she could not explain, and then shamefully covered it up for the sake of the company, she resigned soon after out of guilt.
Brie had elected to leave and go... somewhere. Her initial plan was maybe a fresh start in the Outer Rim, or maybe traipsing around the galaxy as a space vigilante, using her Jedi superpowers to bring justice to those suffering. It was when she was weighing her options she heard of the NJO, and immediately decided that that was where she would go.
Name one NPC your character has a strong connection with. This could be a family member, a friend, a work contact, or a bitter rival.
Effclay Haldow, Galley-La Company Senior Manager
Brie's former boss, a man with a generally hard exterior and kind interior. He changed a while back, around the time Brie became a junior foreman, pushing for more work and less time off. When the accident happened, he seemed to care less about lives lost than productivity and reputation lost.
Describe a moment in your life where you demonstrated your moral strength despite adversity.
Back when things were good, a huge demand for a ship the Galley-La had never done before came in. The shipyard's higher-ups were tempted to turn down the offer at the last minute, depriving her and her co-workers of a potential large bonus. Everyone agreed that building the ship with it's specific requirements that had never had to have been considered was impossible to do in a practical fashion.
Brie refused to simply give up out of pride in her work, and stayed long after closing time to invent proposed solutions of retooling the facilities' heavy equipment with half-forgotten equipment they already had and staked her career on promising they would work. They did, and she was eventually promoted to junior foreman for her troubles.
It never would have happened had she accepted that a solution to a set of looming problems was impossible to achieve.
