Background
Talas Kochou was born in 38 BBY in Rhire, the capital city of Rhinnal, a planet of the Core Worlds, located in the Darpa Sector. Her parents were both doctors working at the famous Rhire Medical Academy, one of the most advanced medical schools in the galaxy.
Aged two months, she fell from a three-storied building due to unknown circumstances, breaking several bones in the process. She survived nonetheless, to the surprise of many witnesses. One of those witnesses was Jedi Knight Ko'Bal , a recent graduate from the Rhinnal Jedi chapter house, the Jedi academy of the city. He felt the potential of the young child instantly, and healed her. Despite that healing, that event stunted her growth in some ways, and Kochou was never able to overcome her frail nature.
A few days after that accident, the Knight came back, took her from her family and brought her to the Order, and she then followed the path of many aspiring Jedis before her. Kochou became a very focused student of the Academy ; she spent a lot of time learning how to become a real doctor, as well as a proper Jedi of the Order. She discovered a natural talent for dueling, focusing her efforts on learning the form of the Mynock, or Soresu. She combined that with the usage of a lightfoil hilt, an almost extinct type of hilt that was typically more suited for the Makashi form.
After several years in the Academy, she became a Padawan in 26 BBY, under now-Jedi Master Ko'Bal. Alongside him, she perfected both her intellectual and martial skills. When the Clone Wars broke out, she became one of the captains of the Monarch Company, led by her Master. She completed her training at that time, building her own lightsaber a few months after the start of the war.
In 19 BBY, she was fighting alongside her Master and her comrades of the Gemini Squad detachement, when Order 66 was enacted. The ensuing chaos had her attacked by a poisonous varactyl. Unconscious, she was escorted out of the fight by her comrades Evo and Binary, on orders of her Master.
Since then, they have been on the run, hopping from planet to planet to escape the gaze of the new Galactic Empire. Kochou has dedicated herself to act as a traveling doctor to survive. She has had to wear a breath mask, as her lungs have suffered from the varactyl poisoning.
The runaways have recently established themselves on Kalpak Prime, a moon of Armath-IV in the Mikaster sector.
Motivation
Oath : Life itself
Kochou was born and raised on a planet where medicine was viewed as the most important science there is. As a result, she's always strived to protect the weak in any way possible, through medicine or fighting, even if it meant putting herself in danger. She can take it, but others maybe can't.
Morality
Obligation : Bounty
Kochou is a Jedi, and was relatively known in the Order as an up-and-comer due to her medical knowledge and her lightsaber prowess. As a result, her disappeareance following the battle of Utapau was noticed by Imperial authorities, most notably due to the report of the turned Monarch Company troops that mentioned her escape.
Since then, she has cut her hair and tried to shake off her pursuers, with the help of her loyal comrades.
Morality : Compassion / Hatred (50)
Kochou has always felt a lot. She has an innate ability to connect with people, and share their pain and their feelings. On the other hand, she often has to contain her wrath when facing particularly evil individuals or acts, and her Master often reprimanded her for that.
Description
Kochou is a rather thin and frail human female (1m60, 45kg). She generally keeps her black and purple hair at shoulder length, to hide the black veins that are visible on the right side of her neck. She wears a breath mask. She can live without it, but wouldn't be capable of long physical efforts.
She hides her saber in her walking stick, allowing her to switch to one weapon or the other depending on the situation. Her lightfoil saber glows a dim and translucent yellow, with a blade thinner than a regular lightsaber.
She generally has a rather cold gaze, often leaving the impression of animosity. In reality, she's a real worrywart and deeply cares for people, but she has to fight off her tendency to get angry when she faces acts or people she deems unacceptable.
She prefers people use her family name, as this is how she was known in the Jedi Chapter of Rhinnal : she shared her first name with another student, and was always referred to by her last name.
